Great support

It took me awhile to try this out, but I love it. The support is great, and I love the fabric. I wear a 30DDD (30F) and ordered the small with the d-ddd cup size. Unfortunately, it won’t work with v-neck tops due to the high front, but I want to wear it all the time otherwise. I definitely need to order more.

Great Fit

I wear a size 32DD so I went for the small with the D - DDD cup and it fits great! It’s snug and supportive, and the fabric is extremely soft.

So Close to Great

I have reviewed this top in “Maya” before; the following is a copy of my opinions about the bralette. I’ll open by saying I usually wear a 40DDD/F (ordered a 2X D-DDD) so finding a supportive bra without underwire or adjustable straps is an ongoing battle; however, this bralette—with the price, customer service, and sustainable footprint in mind—comes very, very close to hitting the mark. It is undoubtedly comfortable. I like Tencel Lyocell and have bought a few other underitems that use it in their fabric blends. It’s soft, flexible, and slightly sweat-wicking so combined with spandex, you know comfort is a given. The straps measure a little less than an inch in width by my count: thick enough not to dig too much into your skin when you first put the bralette on but skinny enough to see an indent and want to circle your shoulders at the end of the day. I would prefer thicker straps, about 1.25”-1.75”, for my size in this bralette. I love, love, love the band on this, though. The way the front darts swoop in at the sides and meet with the wide band kind of “tuck” and sculpt your chest. I don’t know too much about the ergonomics of bra development, but I imagine a good amount of the bralette’s structure comes from that. Still, after a few days of wearing the bralette, I decided to shorten the straps by 2” with some amateur sewing; it’s an easy diy, but it takes away some that slack thus giving me the extra support that I was missing. Overall design and fit of the Square Neck Bralette is an 8.5/10 from me. ( Side Note: If you have a larger chest and are debating buying either the square neck or the everyday bralette, I would recommend the square. I ordered both in the beginning to compare. The everyday bralette gave me virtually zero lift or support; the band rolled up quite easily; and the coverage was minimal. ) Onto how the piece wears. When you first slip the bralette on, there’s the initial shock of: “Wow! All this and no underwire!” For me, that euphoria lasted approximately an hour before the crash. First, the bralette as a shirt. After extended periods of wear, I found my chest shifting and wanting to slip *under* the band. I would readjust and go on about my day but would have to repeat the pattern every 1.5 hours or so. Because the bralette is so flexible there’s nothing really holding you in place. The bralette offers the chest only a gentle suggestion a shape that I found you have to maintain yourself. Second, as an undergarment. I found myself readjusting less when the bralette was worn as an actual undergarment for obvious psychological reasons. This time, I was less concerned about how the bralette looked and more interested in how it felt. I do not live a super intense or active life, but I do stretch and move around throughout the day. The bralette still shifted, but the shifts did not make me feel lopsided or unsupported. I also noticed a tendency of the sides to slide up into my armpit, which isn’t an *unpleasant* feeling, but I—like most people—prefer not my get my deodorant all over my clothing. Overall wearability of the Square Neck Bralette is a 7/10 from me. As a final note before I wrap up: during my purchasing process, I initiated an exchange, and the customer service team was so speedy and helpful that I had to mention it here. Shipped off my item and received my new one in less than two weeks! All-in-all, the Square Neck Bralette is a good prototype for a sustainable, supportive undergarment. Though its quirks bar it from being a go-to, I’m glad to have it in my rotation.

Great and comfy fit-

I was excited to try out this brand in my quest for undergarments that are good for the planet and fit with my identity. Representation matters and I am giving a little round of applause for the marketing team at Proclaim. I am looking forward to purchasing more from them in the future and very satisfied with my purchases. Shipping was so fast!
